Gamelan Tunas Mekar, under the direction of Artist-In-Residence I Made Lasmawan presents an evening of new and traditional music and dance of Bali performed on the Gamelan Angklung.
The Balinese draw their inspiration for music and dance pieces from their natural surroundings. In this performance, Gamelan Tunas Mekar will feature frogs that jump and climb trees, a refined tiger, hovering dragonflies, a triumphant warrior, and young women welcoming us to their village in a traditional dance. Join us for a very special evening followed by a reception with the performers. Featuring guest Balinese dancer Ni Ketut Marni with dancers Vie Lim, Indira Sandika and Aaron Burris-DeBoskey.
